NEWPORT — Local police spent most of Saturday afternoon looking for a Troy man involved in a domestic assault earlier in the day.
On Sunday, Roland Trask, 36, turned himself in to Newport police. He was charged with domestic assault for an incident involving his live-in girlfriend.
Police were called to Gilman’s Trailer Park around 2 p.m. Saturday on a report of people fighting. Police located the female victim, but the assailant fled the scene.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield for treatment of bruises to her face and neck. She was not identified.
Trask reportedly returned to the couple’s home in the trailer park sometime after the assault and reportedly threatened the woman again, according to Chief James Ricker.
