BREWER – Pitcher Melanie Deyone stroked two singles and knocked in two runs as Bangor capped a perfect regular season with its 16th straight softball victory, a 9-2 decision over Brewer at Coffin Field Thursday afternoon.

Sam Warner added two singles for the Rams while Jamie Wells and Jamie Kenny each doubled.

Allison Wing singled twice and knocked in both runs in the third inning. Tami Corey and Kellee Rowles each singled twice.

At East Corinth, Sarah Webster pitched a three-hitter, struck out 12, and didn’t walk a batter to help lead the Vikings to a win in their regular season finale.

Michelle Murphy hit three singles while Jen Moore and Webster each singled twice for the Vikings.

Sarah Mattulis hit a double for the Red Devils.

At Millinocket, sophomore Shannon Sirois allowed only two hits, none after the second inning, to lead Stearns to its sixth win in its last seven outings.

Heather Potvin singled in the winning run in the fifth and added a triple for the Minutemen. Nicole Duplisea and Brooke Legassey each doubled and singled.

Lindsay Patten pitched a complete game and struck out 13 for Ellsworth. Patten and Rachel Smallidge had a single each.

At Mount Desert, John Bapst pounded out seven hits in the third inning to score eight runs and defeat the Trojans.

Lori Lafontaine and Kerri Beckett each drove in two runs in the third inning for the Crusaders. Kelly Wong and Keegan Richard had three singles each.

Crystal Graves singled in two runs for Mount Desert Island. Jennica Tripp singled and tripled and Misty Burns had a single and a double.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Sherry Zimmerman blasted a three-run homer in the third inning as the Ponies cruised.

Becky Warren singled three times and Brooke Hartford hit two singles. Kristi Smith added two more singles for Foxcroft Academy.

Jessica Libby stroked three singles and Laine Ballard rapped an RBI single. Lorie Mehuren and Laura Keating each singled twice.

At Milo, Abbie Bowen of Penquis allowed only one ball out of the infield as she tossed a no-hitter against Piscataquis.

Bowen struck out four and walked just one for the Patriots. Miranda Nichols banged out three singles and Mandy Morey doubled and singled to drive in three runs. Erynn Bailey cranked a two-run double.

Presque Isle sweeps Nokomis

At Presque Isle, Cara Miller had six hits and five RBIs as Presque swept Nokomis in a doulbeheader.

In the first game, Miller had a double and two singles and drove in two runs to lift the Wildcats.

Billie Hayward added a double and two singles and three RBIs for Presque Isle. Maren Milliard singled twice and pitched a complete game seven-hitter.

Kim Pushor singled twice for Nokomis and Jess Randlett doubled.

In the second game, Miller hit a two-run double in the first inning and singled twice for Presque Isle.

Jessica Martin blasted a three-run double in the first inning and added a single. Amanda Belden hit two singles.

Andrea Pelkey had three singles for Nokomis. Rachel Henderson doubled, singled twice and drove in a pair of runs. Hope Kurro belted a double and single.

At Millinocket, Corey Streams hurled a complete-game five-hitter, striking out six and walking two, to lead the Minutemen to the win.

Matt Montgomery rapped three singles and knocked in two runs for Stearns, while Aaron Civiello pounded a three-run homer in the first and singled. Jamie Cote and Streams added a double and a single each, Darren Daniels singled twice and Jason Folsom hit a two-run double.

Josh Magoon led the Eagles with a double and a single. Corey Bunker added two singles.

At Mount Desert, Ben Beaulieu’s two-run single, Mike Lynch’s RBI single and Tony Tremble’s sacrifice fly keyed the four-run sixth-inning rally that erased an 11-8 deficit and gave Bapst its win.

Beaulieu had three singles and two RBIs for the winners, Tremble doubled and singled and knocked in three runs and Mike Lynch had two singles and two RBIs.

Chris Curran had three singles and three RBIs for Mount Desert Island. Jamie Cunningham doubled and singled twice and knocked in two runs; Jeremy Clark singled twice and had two RBIs and Devin Lueddeke had two singles and an RBI.

At Bucksport, John Beck singled three times and drove in three runs to lead the Golden Bucks to the season-ending win.

Chad Gilley added two singles and an RBI for Bucksport, amd Buzz Simpson’s three-run home run ended the game in the fifth. Craig Harvey fanned nine to pick up the win.

Jason Shook nailed a run-scoring double for George Stevens of Blue Hill, while Zach Davies added a double.

Nokomis, Presque Isle split

At Presque Isle, Marc Wood cranked a three-run homer in the fourth inning as the Wildcats got an 11-6 victory in the first game of a doubleheader against the Warriors. Nokomis of Newport turned the tables in the second game to top Presque Isle 11-6.

In the opener, Chris Michaud hit four singles for two RBIs. Nick Nadeau singled, doubled and drove in one run. For the Warriors, Greg Morse hit two singles and a double for one RBI. Gus Demos singled twice.

In the nightcap, Morse battled back with two singles, a double and one RBI. Jarrid Otis smacked a three-run home run, a double and a single to total five RBIs. Presque Isle’s Matt Allen doubled and drove in three runs anhd Brad Boyles added an RBI-double.

Woodland splits a pair

At Woodland, the Woodland Dragons played a pair of close games, losing to Lee Academy before beating Shead in extra innings.

In the first game, Woodland and Lee completed a game delayed by rain as Lee scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat the Dragons.

Charlie Worster slammed a three-run home run in the top of the seventh and added a single and a double.

Josh Thornton doubled and had two singles, driving in a pair for Woodland. Mark Knowles doubled and singled and Derek Bailey and Matt Ayer hit two singles each.

In the second game, Thornton broke a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning with a two-run home run as Woodland closed the season with a win.

Thornton added a sacrifice fly and a straight steal of home for the Dragons. Bailey doubled and tripled to drive in a run.

Ricky Cox had two singles and an RBI for Shead and Jimmy Mit Ricky Cox had two singles and an RBI for Shead and Jimmy Mitchell doubled in two runs.
