PORTLAND – Jared Cochran struck out nine while walking only one in four innings to give Worcester Peat a 12-4 victory over Maietta Construction Friday night in Portland Twilight League action at Deering Oakes Park.
Brian Hawkes singled twice, doubled and drove in three runs for the winners. Matt Truman chipped in with an RBI double and Aaron Largay added a run-scoring single.
The game was shortened to six innings because of rain.
