Melford Pelletier’s June 6 letter tells me that our Allagash stew needs a little more simmering before it’s just right for everyone. So I’d like to throw three more sticks on the camp fire in the form of questions —

1. Do day users enter the Allagash by unauthorized routes such as John’s Bridge?

2. Do day users register with the rangers before using the Allagash?

3. Do day users pay a fee?

When I canoe the Allagash, I always use an authorized route, register with the rangers, and pay $4.00 for each 24 hour period. Paul Shanley Eddington
