Meyer’s RBI single tops Trenton turnaround

ELLSWORTH – Adam Meyer capped a three-run fifth inning rally with an RBI single to provide the winning run for the Acadians in a 3-2 American Legion victory over Calais Thursday night.

Seth Cole tied the game with an RBI sacrifice fly. Jason Pinkham also had an RBI single. Meyer led Trenton with a double and single behind Matt McFarland, who struck out six.

Josh Thornton drove in a run for Calais on one of his two singles. Josh Porter doubled and singled.

Brewer 13, Waldo County 2

At Bucksport, Chad Gilley cranked a two-run home run in the first inning as the Falcons pounded out 16 hits against the Colonials.

Nick Raymond hit a two-run double, a one-run triple and a single for Brewer. Tom Pollard, Ben Preston, Craig Harvey and John Beck each doubled and singled. Gilley added a single.

For Waldo County, T.J. Curtis singled to drive in Roland Littlefield in the fourth and added two more singles. Jason Littlefield singled twice.

Orono 10, Bangor 4

At Bangor, Jamie Kennedy singled twice, drove in a run, and combined with Matt Darres on a five-hitter to lead Orono to the win.

Darrin Daniels drove in three runs with a triple while Jamie Cote and Matt Allen each singled twice for the Twins.

Willy Baird had a single and a double, and Josh Hiatt ripped an RBI single for the Comrades.
