Coastal of Blue Hill advanced to the title round in Junior League play while Brewer moved to the championship round in Senior League to highlight all-star action in District 3 baseball and softball tourneys Tuesday.
Coastal eliminated Bangor 15-5 in a losers’ bracket contest and will take on the undefeated Brewer Juniors today at 5 p.m. at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor for the district crown.
A Coastal victory would force another game Thursday at 5 p.m.
In Senior League play, Brewer edged rival Bangor 5-2 and Old Town eliminated Millinocket 5-0. Old Town takes on Bangor today in a 2 p.m. elimination game. The winner faces undefeated Brewer in the 7:30 p.m. championship round.
If Brewer loses, then another game would be played Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, in the ages 11-12 baseball tourney, Millinocket notched its third win by eliminating Holbrook of Holden 8-3. Hampden ousted Brewer 11-0, Bangor West eliminated Coastal of Blue Hill 12-2 and Bangor East eliminated Sunrise of Steuben 6-5.
In ages 9-10 baseball, Machias eliminated Hermon 12-7 and Holbrook ousted Acadia of Mount Desert 10-5.
In ages 9-10 softball, Bangor rolled by Old Town 12-2 and Machias eliminated Hampden 20-16.
Waldo County knocked off Lincoln County 8-4 in a District 2 baseball game for ages 9-10.
Junior League, age 13
Coastal 15, Bangor 5
At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Coastal piled up nine runs in the third inning.
Chris Candage and Colby Allen each had a double, two singles, and three RBIs for Coastal. Nick Henry drove in three runs with a pair of singles. Chris Sargent singled twice with one RBI.
Andrew Treadwell tripled and singled for Bangor.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, John Graves fired a five-hitter, striking out seven and walking only one as Old Town won.
Graves had two singles to back his shutout effort for Old Town. Chris Rand added two singles. Todd Rand laced an RBI single and Jeremy Storman singled and walked.
Ryan Sweeney singled and doubled to pace Millinocket.

At Mansfield Stadium, Jason Harvey limited Bangor to two hits while striking out five to help Brewer earn the victory.
Jason Spencer backed Harvey with an RBI single and Harvey aided his own cause with a triple.
Derrick Shain doubled for Bangor and Jason Thomas singled.

At Steuben, Joshua Haun’s two-run single with two out in the top of the fifth inning turned a one-run deficit into a one-run lead as Bangor East advanced.
Chris Muir and Peter Nelson each had a double for Bangor East.
Eric Pelletier and Trevor Renwick hit two singles each for Sunrise.

At Blue Hill, Tim Woodcock jolted a three-run homer in the first inning to help Bangor West roll.
Payson Nichols doubled and singled to knock in a run. Joshua Young smacked a solo homer. Brian Lever and Nate Hall each banged out two singles and drove in a run apiece.
Will Rosenthal doubled to drive in a run for Coastal. Adam Cousin had a pair of singles.

At Hampden, Chris Pease pitched four scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out six as Hampden won.
Ken Mayo hammered a pair of doubles for Hampden. Keith Zanardi singled twice and drove in three runs. Jason Huntley singled and drove in two runs.
Andrew Patterson singled twice for Brewer.

At Holden, Craig Jandreau tossed a four-hitter with eight strikeouts as Millinocket won.
Derick DiFrederico doubled and homered for Millinocket, driving in three runs. Andrew Eaton hit a double and solo home run.
Adam Boyle drove in two runs with a single for Holbrook. H.J. Hunter added a double.

Games changed for 11-12 tourney
Games scheduled for the ages 11-12 baseball tourney on Thursday and Friday have been changed, according to District 3 Administrator Bob Stevenson.
The games scheduled for Thursday have been moved to Monday, July 20, while the Friday games have been moved to Tuesday July 21. The games scheduled for July 20 and 21 have been moved back.
The changes were made to prevent teams from playing four consecutive games, Stevenson said.

At Millinocket, Corey Colberth singled twice and tripled, driving in a run to lift Machias.
Tom Blanc tripled and doubled for Machias. Nick Wood had a double, single, and an RBI.
Tyler Gray ripped two singles and drove in one run for Hermon.

At Old Town, Jamie Gomm hurled a one-hitter and struck out 12 to lift Bangor over Old Town.
Whitney Austin and Gomm had two singles and two RBIs each for Bangor. Katy MacDonald and Taggia Ronco each drilled a pair of singles.
Jenny Jones singled for Old Town.

At Machias, Megan Huffman doubled and singled to drive in four runs, lifting Machias to a win.
Kelsey Kurz and Whitney Baker hit two singles each for Machias. Meredith Cherry singled to drive in a run. Stephanie Whitman struck out nine.
Annaliese Lafayette ripped five singles for Hampden. Elizabeth Kiser doubled and had three singles. Hannah Group and Ashley Cross had three singles each.

At New Harbor, Sean Johnson’s run-scoring double and Matt Nickerson’s RBI single keyed a four-run third-inning rally that erased a 3-0 deficit and enabled Waldo to eliminate Lincoln.
Nickerson’s triple was the big blow in the three-run fourth.
Righty Kyle Harvey hurled 3 2/3 innings of two-hit, one-run relief to notch the win.
Josh Nickerson and Bobby Seger had singles for Waldo County while Patrick Howell, Brian Parlin and Stephen Williams singled for Lincoln County.
