Bangor East and Machias both advanced from the losers’ bracket with victories in the District 3 Little League all-star tourney for ages 9-10 Friday in Millinocket.
Machias eliminated Brewer 14-11 while Bangor East ousted Holbrook of Holden 7-3.
Meanwhile, action continued in Little League softball where Bangor East beat Bangor West 19-17 in ages 11-12 and Bangor defeated Acadia of Mount Desert 10-1 in Senior League play.
In the state Babe Ruth baseball tourney for age 13 players, Sanford eliminated Houlton 9-8, Tri-County American East beat Gorham 14-4, and Portland stopped Lincoln County 12-2.

At Millinocket, Chase Ross hit an RBI single and an RBI triple as Machias earned the comeback victory.
Garrett Getchell knocked a twoa-run double and singled in the winning effort. Nick Wood singled twice and Tom Buck hit an RBI double and sinlged.
Ricky Wing hit a two-run double and Ben Davis added a two-run single in Brewer’s eight-run third. Killian Kilroy doubled and drove in one.

At Millinocket, Justin Turcotte and Scott Hackett each hit a two-run single as Bangor East plated six runs in the second en route to victory.
Ryan Thibeau singled twice for Bangor East.
Phil Adams gave Holbrook an early 2-0 lead with a two-run double in the top of the first. Dave Madden chipped in with a single and an RBI.

At New Harbor, Waldo County scored two runs in the sixth to tie the game and added a run in the seventh to eliminate Lincoln County in District 2 action.
Silas Ratten singled twice for Waldo County and Sam Adolphsen doubled. Spenser Garton was the winning pitcher.
Joe Clark doubled and singled for Lincoln County, while Eric Gimbel singled twice.

At Bangor, Bangor East was powered by Laura Clarke and Megan McCrum who each had a triple and two singles to help eliminate Bangor West.
Bangor East will play Old Town in the championship game on Monday.
Stephanie Tracey added three singles for Bangor East, while Amy Bell and Stephany Chase each had two singles.
Cortni DePhillipo had a double and three singles for Bangor West. Kate Turner doubled and smacked three singles, while Abbey Ordway and Adrienne Batchelder each added three singles.

Bangor 10, Acadia 1
At the Bangor High field, Rachael Dube singled, doubled and tripled while driving in two runs to lead Bangor.
Jenny Jimmo and Jamie Wells combined on a two-hitter while striking out 11 and Megan Huckins singled twice and knocked in a run for the winners.
Jill Osier doubled for Acadia and Colby Meehan knocked in their lone run with an RBI groundout. Osier was saddled with the loss despite striking out 11.

At Rockport, Sanford sprinted to a 4-0 lead after the first inning and held on to eliminate Houlton from the 13-year-old Babe Ruth state tournament.

At Rockland, David Stone hit a double and two singles for four RBIs as Tri-County American East eliminated Gorham.
Joe Stevens also doubled and singled twice to drive in two runs. Matt Diffin, Brent Grenier and Rick Cummings each hit two singles for Tri-County.

At Rockland, Portland’s Nick Giobbi and John Zack combined on a four-hitter to stop Lincoln County.
Scott Brown and Andrew Dvilinsky each hit two singles for two RBIs. Zack and Don Drake both singled twice and drove in one run.
