Am I the only one who is tired of hearing about Ken Starr and his investigation of President Clinton’s sex life?

I am reminded of my high school history class, when I studied the Salem witch hunts. Ken Starr, Monica Lewinsky, Paula Jones and Linda Tripp are looking for their 15 minutes of fame. If indeed the president did have an affair with Jones and Lewinsky (which I am still not convinced happened), it should be a private matter, involving only the Clintons themselves.

Let Mrs. Clinton deal with the president; she is married to him, he should only have to answer to her in a matter such as this. The president wouldn’t be the first man (or woman, for that matter) to have an affair and then ask the other person to lie about it. This hasn’t affected his ability to run the country, so why is Starr on this witch hunt?

My advice to Starr and the “ladies” mentioned above: Get a real job like the rest of us and stop trying to direct the president’s attention away from his job, running this country. My advice to Mrs. Clinton: If you still love the president, keep a tight rein on him. I would vote for Bill Clinton again, even if he was running today. Lorianne M. Tweedie Parkman
