BOSTON – The America East Conference’s directors of athletics has awarded the right to host its 1999 Women’s Basketball Championship to the University of Vermont.

This will be the third straight season America East has utilized the single-site format. The University of Maine hosted the tourney in 1997 and 1998, drawing nearly 14,000 fans for the four day event last year. Vermont’s Patrick Gymnasium seats 3,228 fans.
