HERMON – Scott Chubbuck of Wiscasset won the final Sportsman 100 of the season at Speedway 95 on Sunday, taking the lead on lap 6 and holding off the rest of the 10-car field for his third 100-lap win this year.
Jim Goodman of Orrington was closest to Chubbuck in second place, but still finished 2.09 seconds off the pace. Pole sitter Andy Saunders of Ellsworth placed third with Pittsfield’s Adam Friend and Peter Melanson of St. Alban’s rounding out the top five.

Oliver wins third feature of season
At Scarborough, Tom Oliver claimed his third Late Model Sportsman feature of the season on Saturday night at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.
Scarborough’s Oliver took the lead on lap 18 and held off a late challenge from Billy Thompson of Hollis, who finished second. Steve Carrier of Somersworth, N.H. placed third with Danny Bubar of Windham and Scarborough’s Steve Howard rounding out the top five.

Burgess wins Pro Stock feature
At Wiscasset, Oakland’s Jeff Burgess lead from the pole and won five restarts to pick up his second Pro Stock win this year at Wiscasset Raceway on Saturday night.
Rookie Steve Reno of West Bath recovered from an early-race scrape with another car to place second. Scott Chubbuck of Wiscasset started in the back row but moved his way up to finish third. Newcastle’s Jim Kaler Jr. and Boothbay’s Steve Reny placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

Brackett picks up fifth season win
At Oxford, Tim Brackett of Oxford took the lead in Sunday’s 35-lap Pro Stock feature on lap 10 and took advantage of two restarts to pick up his fifth win of the season at Oxford Plains Speedway.
Tommy Rowe of Turner finished second, running behind Brackett for the final 25 laps. West Buxton’s Gary Drew placed third, sneaking past fourth-place Johnny Clark of Hallowell and fifth-place Bub Bilodeau of Standish, with two laps remaining.
Sunday’s Late Model Stock and Outlaw races were postponed until Sept. 4 due to rain.

At Unity, Pittsfield rookie Andy Migliore raced through several restarts and the challenge of two veterans win the Gary Mitchell Memorial 50 on Saturday night at Unity Raceway.
Searsmont’s Glendon Mehuren made a hard charge at Migliore, but placed second. Rick Burgess of Waterville came in third. Chelsea’s Bob Trask and Waterville’s Jim Collins finished fourth and fifth.

Prescott maintains point lead
At Woodstock, N.H., Kenny Martin Jr. of Sprakers, N.Y., took his first checkered flag of the season on Saturday as he won the PRO Tour event at White Mountain Motorsports Park.
Brent Dragon of Milton, Vt. came home in second place and East Hampton, N.Y.’s Bryon Chew, who is second place in the point standings, placed third.
Steve Prescott of Gardiner remained in first place in the point standings after placing 14th.
