AOMORI, Japan – The Husson College baseball team split its first two games during its baseball and cultural exchange trip to Japan.

Coach John Kolasinski’s Braves posted a 10-8 victory Sunday over Aomori University’s “B” team, then dropped a 7-4 decision to the Aomori “A” squad in Monday’s contest.

Jason Cyr of Millinocket paced Husson’s win with a double and three singles, while Barrett Williams singled four times. Don Sawyer of Brewer knocked in four runs with two home runs, while John Montgomery of Millinocket singled three times.

James Zukowski picked up the win with six innings of seven-hit ball.

In Monday’s game, the Braves committed five errors, leading to seven unearned runs, behind starter Pudge Tarbox.

Williams and Aaron Largay had two singles each for Husson, which outhit Aomori 8-6.
