ISLESBORO — Three area residents were plucked from waters off Islesboro Harbor on Wednesday after their 40-foot fishing vessel Cagee sank just after noon.
The Rockland Coast Guard reported that the fishing vessel sank, sending three people into the water. The Coast Guard identified the trio as Douglas Wade and Rhonda Gardner of Islesboro and Jeff Roman of Rockland.
Islesboro Harbor Master William Smith responded to the rescue call in the vessel Fundy Spray II and took the trio ashore. None of the threesome was injured. A boat from the Dark Harbor Boat Yard towed the submerged fishing vessel to shallow water and grounded it near Duck Trap Harbor in Lincolnville.
The Schooner Harvey Gamage also assisted.
