MARS HILL – Lindsay Boyd scored two goals and assisted on the third to lead the Central Aroostook Panthers to a 3-1 schoolgirl soccer win over the Easton Bears Saturday.
Misty Pratt scored the other goal for Central Aroostook, now 4-2, and she assisted on Boyd’s second score. Goalkeeper Darcy Walsh made seven saves on eight shots.
Brandi Blanchard, with an assist from Sarah Hopkins, briefly tied the game for 2-3 Easton at 1-1 in the first half, until Pratt’s score two minutes later. Mary Williams made six saves on nine shots.
Caribou 2, Nokomis 1
At Newport, Jen Corey netted the game-winner at the 24:51 mark of the second half on an assist from Megan Cole-Karagory as Caribou took the win.
Corey also scored the Vikings’ first goal at the 13:48 mark of the first half as they moved to 1-1. Ashley Monahan made eight saves on 11 shots.
Erica Bacon scored on an assist from Sarah Frey for 0-1 Nokomis. Marcie Raymond stopped nine of 11 shots.
Boys soccer
Easton 2, Central Aroostook 1
At Mars Hill, Ryan Lamoreau scored the game-winner on a penalty kick with 37 seconds left in the first half to lift Easton.
Andrew Perry netted a first-half goal for 2-3 Easton on an assist from Matt Hopkins. Jeff Blackstone made five stops on 13 shots.
For Central Aroostook, now 1-4, Scott Mullen tallied an unassisted goal. Brad Walsh stopped five of eight shots.
