BANGOR – Kat Calligan had a goal and an assist to lift Husson College to a 2-0 women’s soccer win over UMaine-Machias Wednesday.

Kiera Dorr had a goal and Caramore Marnie added an assist for Husson, 1-0-0. Nicky Steinhart stopped all three shots she saw.

Marita Buteau had 21 saves on 35 shots for UMaine-Machias, 1-1-1.

At Castine, three different Mariners had unassisted goals as Tracy Forand had a shutout in net.

Erin Gainsley had a first-half goal, as Monica Locke and Rachel Merrill scored less than eight minutes apart in the second. Forand had ten saves on 13 shots for 2-1 MMA.

Rom Harrison and Becky Schaffer combined for seven saves on 15 shots for 0-1 Unity.
