OAKLAND – Tim Parenteau’s two-point conversion run in the third quarter followed Jared Colson’s one-yard touchdown run and broke a 14-14 tie as Belfast nipped Messalonskee 16-14 in a schoolboy football game Friday night.
Parenteau scored on a 14-yard run out in the first quarter with Colson passing to Matt Darres for the two-point conversion.
Darres set up both scores, catching three balls for 68 total yards.
Tony Harmon led the Eagles’ ground attack, exploding for 147 yards on 26 carries, including a 53-yard dash in the third quarter to put Messalonskee ahead.
Ryan Blethen ran for a two-yard score in the first, but the conversion rush attempt failed. Blethen was successful on another attempt in the third.

Old Town 30, Maranacook 8
At Old Town, Josh O’Keefe rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on nine carries and the Indians had touchdowns from Chad Holmes and Peter Fournier as they cruised to the win.
Fournier ran for 47 yards on four rushes and Holmes amassed 58 yards on eight carries, while QB Doug Emerson went 5-for-9 passing for 58 yards.
A Justin Spencer interception that set up Old Town’s first touchdown and O’Keefe’s 53-yard run that set up its second were key in the Indians’ win.
Justin Lizzotte had 10 tackles and Seth Holmes made nine to help Old Town hold Maranacook to just 15 rushing yards.
Ryan Raynes was 13 of 22 for 140 yards and a TD for Maranacook. Brian Tweedie rushed for 78 yards and a TD on nine carries and Tackle Richard Kimmel led the Black Bears of Readfield with six tackles.

At Millinocket, Justin Cummings rumbled for 209 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries in the Minutemen’s rout of the Bulldogs.
Cummings had scoring runs of four, three and 36 yards. Seth Dickinson ran in for a five-yard score and also ran back a 68-yard punt for a touchdown in the second quarter.
Darren Daniels caught a 35-yard pass from Aaron Civiello, and Ben Lankhorst rushed for an 11-yard touchdown. Civiello tossed for 107 yards on four completions.

At Bucksport, senior tailback Jason Gifford ran for 105 yards; junior tailback-power back Ronnie Hutchins rushed for 98 more and each scored a touchdown as Bucksport blanked the defending state Class C champs.
Gifford, who carried the ball 19 times, scored on a four-yard run in the second quarter and Hutchins, who had 14 carries, scampered 17 yards for a fourth-quarter TD.
Cam Giroux had a one-yard TD run and Warren Chase ran 44 yards for the final TD.
Bucksport rushed for 317 yards on 44 carries for an average of 7.2 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, free safety Giroux made two interceptions and end Ryan Carrier had a couple of sacks to anchor the Buck defense along with linebacker David Craig.
Quarterback Jeremy Shorey gained 90 yards on 18 carries for Lisbon.

At Livermore Falls, Jeremy Abbot scored four touchdowns, including a 43-yard scamper in the first quarter, as the Andies amassed more than 200 yards on the ground.
Aaron Hanson and Joe Groomes each added a touchdown run for Livermore Falls.

At Lincoln, B.J. Birtz accounted for 220 yards of total offense, rushing 13 times for 120 yards and airing it out for 100 yards in the Lynx win.
Birtz connected with Delaney Wilkes on a 25-yard score in the third quarter, and rushed in from 40 yards out in the fourth. Miah Coffin rushed for touchdowns of six and 18 yards. Nate Shorey also had a rushing score. Jared McCarthy ran 11 times for 83 yards.
Winthrop got on the scoreboard in the third quarter when Lee St. Hillaire connected with Josh Tibbits on an eight-yard play.
