Don Perryman of Belfast roared to the top of the guest predictor list, and dethroned three-time champion Kevin Hewes of Holden, following a 17-3 posting in Week 2 of the 33rd Football Forecast.

Dave Barber continues to lead the staff side, but Pete Warner and Andrew Neff aren’t allowing any breathing room.

Earle “Pete” Cooper, the Lawrence High of Fairfield football coach for 28 years before retiring in 1996, is this week’s guest.

Cooper won 10 regional championships and three state titles at Lawrence, where the football stadium is named after him. He also coached Madison from 1964-68.

Cooper went to Morse High School in Bath and was a 1964 graduate of the University of Maine, where he was a co-captain of the 1963 Black Bear football team.

Cooper and his wife Lois live in Fairfield, and their son Kevin is the football coach at Bonny Eagle High School.
