Millard paces John Bapst past Golden Bucks

BANGOR – Kristi Millard scored off a Stacy Rudnicki assist with three minutes left in the second overtime to lift John Bapst to a 4-3 schoolgirl soccer win over Bucksport on Monday.

Rudnicki added two goals in the win while Megan Sekera scored a goal and Kelli Wong added an assist. Alex Waring made five saves on 10 shots for the 4-7 Crusaders of Bangor.

Jessica Gordon scored two goals, Cara Pollard scored one and Abby Russell added an assist for the 3-6-2 Golden Bucks. Jana Richards stopped 10 of 16 shots.

DI-Stonington 3, Central 2

At East Corinth, Abbie Barrows netted a pair of goals as the Mariners of Deer Isle-Stonington defeated Central.

Barrows scored on an assist from Nancy Garland and added an unassisted goal for 1-10 Deer Isle-Stonington. Angela Douglass added an unassisted goal. Morgan Sickles made eight saves on 18 shots.

Amy Jarzabeck and Stephanie Partridge scored a goal each for the 1-11 Red Devils. Krystal Stevens and Jessica Gallant had one assist apiece. Jen Allen stopped 14 of 17 shots.

Searsport 3, Sumner 1

At Searsport, Lasha Keller, Melissa Wilson and Abby Klotzle each scored one goal to lead Searsport past Sumner.

Brandi Nickerson, Holly Gracie and Laura Holweger registered an assist apiece for 9-1 Searsport. Jessica Barton made five saves on nine shots.

Jill Osier scored an unassisted goal for 2-8-1 Sumner of East Sullivan. Stacie Warren stopped nine of 16 shots.

Ellsworth 4, Hermon 0

At Ellsworth, four different players had one goal apiece as the Ellsworth Eagles downed Hermon.

Cathy Dill, Becky Lock, May Chan and Sarah Silsby tallied one goal apiece for the 9-0-2 Eagles. Silsby and Renee Saunders had one assist each. Bekah Metzler stopped one of the two shots she faced.

Heather Small made 24 saves on 34 shots for 1-7-3 Hermon.

Old Town 0, Orono 0 (2OT)

At Old Town, the Indians and Red Riots battled through two overtime periods without a goal to settle for a tie.

Justin Ferland stopped nine of 12 shots for 6-4-1 Old Town.

Meghann Taylor made four saves on seven shots for 8-2-1 Orono.

MDI 4, George Stevens 1

At Mount Desert Island, Maija Kaldro scored a pair of goals just two minutes apart late in the second half as the Trojans pulled away from George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill.

Kelly Reed and Laura Nangle each had a pair of assists for Mount Desert Island, now 9-2. Mindy Kane and Hollie Walker had one goal apiece. Melissa Gott stopped two of four shots.

Sarah Clapp converted a pass from Sara Haney for a goal to give the 4-6-1 Eagles a 1-0 lead just 11 minutes into the game. Dawn Robertson turned away 11 of 22 shots in net.

JV: MDI 4, GSA 0

Hampden 9, Brewer 0

At Brewer, Meghan Silver led a potent Hampden attack with two goals and three assists as the Broncos downed the Brewer Witches.

Kate Jackson scored two goals and posted an assist for Hampden, now 8-1-2. Laura Martin and Shena Pineau netted two goals each. Lindsey Dilts added a goal. Sam Shaw, Jillian Campbell, Jani Bosse and Sam Kingsbury each had one assist. Sarah Fraunhofer made three saves on six shots.

For Brewer, now 1-7-1, Terry Gough stopped 20 of 43 shots.

JV: Hampden 11, Brewer 0

Boys soccer

Higgins Christian 4, Chop Point 1

At Charleston, Seth Strout and Nick Waite scored two goals each as Higgins Christian defeated Chop Point.

Strout scored on an assist from David Day and later added an unassisted goal for 2-4-1 Higgins Christian. Both of Waite’s goals were unassisted. Brandon Philbrick stopped 11 of 12 shots.

Adam Todd scored on a penalty kick 7:50 into the second half for 2-3 Chop Point of Woolwich. Mike Perkins blocked seven of 13 shots.

Carrabec 7, Boothbay 2

At Boothbay, Shane Libby scored two goals and added two assists as Carrabec toppled Boothbay Region.

Luke Stinchfield and Adam Gravel had two goals each for 8-2 Carrabec of North Anson. Scooter Gleason added a goal. Stinchfield, Ben Brill and Adam Evangelista had an assist apiece. Chad Mullin made seven saves on nine shots.

For 1-11 Boothbay, Lon Climo had a goal and an assist. Ian McConnell added a goal and Alex Arsenault registered an assist. Sam Harris made 19 saves on 26 shots.

Field hockey

Nokomis 1, Central 1 (2 OT)

At Newport, Miranda Johndro scored with 17:49 left in the second half as Nokomis and Central played to a tie in high school field hockey action on Monday afternoon.

Veronica Gilbert came up with nine saves on 15 shots for 5-4-1 Nokomis.

Shauna Richards registered an unassisted goal for the Red Devils, now 4-2-4. Jen Greatorex made 14 saves on 25 shots. J.V.: Nokomis 0, Central 0

Orono 0, Old Town 0 (2 OT)

At Orono, the Orono Red Riots and Old Town Indians played to a scoreless tie Monday afternoon in high school field hockey action.

Jenn Brooks made seven saves on 10 shots to post the shutout for 4-4-3 Orono.

For Old Town, now 4-6-2, Kristin Osborne whitewashed the Riots with nine saves on 19 shots.

Hampden 4, Brewer 0

At Brewer, Heather Hessert netted a pair of unassisted goals to lift Hampden to the shutout win over Brewer.

Maryanne Alley and Danielle McCabe scored an unassisted goal apiece for the 7-3 Broncos. Ashlea Larson stopped all 11 shots she faced.

For the Witches, now 1-10, Jessica Rowles made 11 saves on 21 shots.
