SOUTH CHINA – Missy Thompson scored the eventual game-winner 19 minutes into the second half off a direct kick, giving Camden-Rockport a 3-1 victory over Mount View for the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B schoolgirl soccer title.

Allison Ridley added an insurance goal two minutes later for 14-1 Camden-Rockport. Maggie Cohn had a first-half goal, while Toni-Lynn Robbins made three saves on 14 shots.

Jenny Neves had a unassisted second-half score for 11-3-1 Mount View of Thorndike. Jessica Trundy made no saves on 12 shots.

Boys soccer

Jonesport-Beals 2, ‘Guagus 1 (2OT)

At Jonesport, goalkeeper Mike Lewark registered 17 saves, then scored the clinching goal during the penalty-kick shootout as Jonesport-Beals edged Narraguagus in overtime for the Downeast Athletic Conference title.

Eric Blackwood put the 11-3-1 Royals up 1-0 in the shootout after the teams played through 80 minutes of scoreless regulation.

Clint Haskell tied the shootout for the 10-3 Knights of Harrington. Bruce Hall made 23 saves on 27 shots for ‘Guagus.
