AUGUSTA — The Maine Arts Commission’s Arts in Education Program is seeking video artists to work on a project to help prevent underage drinking in Maine .
A two-year project, called Youth Voices, is being developed through the Maine Office of Substance Abuse Prevention. Young people will learn to analyze media messages and marketing strategies used in alcohol sales. They will learn to use media to create their own public service announcements, ads, and short documentaries around issues of underage drinking.
As many as ten communities across Maine will form teams of middle school, high school, and college students to examine policies and community norms around underage alcohol use.
