Anyone interested in becoming a certified volunteer instructor for the Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs program for youngsters is invited to attend a day-long workshop at Penobscot Conservation Club, North Main Street, Brewer beginning Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

State Volunteer Coordinator Charlie Mann said Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs is a program of the Future Fisherman Foundation that has been adopted by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to teach youngsters the “non-use of alcohol and drugs and also to teach the necessary life skills that will give them an alternative that will help keep them drug free.”

The program combines drug prevention, environmental education and fishing. For more information on the workshop contact Mann at 287-8069.
