Trenkle, Allen spearhead GSA Eagles past Trojans

MOUNT DESERT – George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill limited Mount Desert Island to five third-quarter points en route to a 63-46 schoolgirl basketball victory Monday night.

Lora Trenkle hit three 3-pointers on her way to 22 points for the Eagles. Nikki Allen contributed 16 points.

Coley Stetler paced the Trojans with 13 points. Melissa Gott scored 10.

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Ian Soldano scored two goals and Purple Panthers goaltender Chris Kronenthau turned away 20 Bangor shots as Waterville won.

Seth Pelletier and Corey Gardner also scored goals for Waterville on assists from Dean Carpenter, Chad Hart, Brian LeBrasseur, Kyle McMorrow and Derrick Pratt.

Justin Libbey scored Bangor’s only goal on a Jon Kotredes assist. Travis Brooker made 26 saves on 30 shots for the Rams.

Foxcroft 7, Old Town 3

At Alfond Arena in Orono, Corey Beaulieu scored two goals and assisted on two as the Ponies downed the Indians.

Rob Orton scored two goals, while Jake Brooks and Seth Condon added a goal and an assist each. Brandon Johnson added a goal for 2-8 Foxcroft Academy behind Zach Brooks, who made 23 saves on 26 shots.

Meghan King paced 3-6 Old Town with a goal and an assist. Kevin Gallant and Tommy Graffam had one goal each to back Jason Karam, who made 23 saves on 30 shots.
