Blanchard, Peers power Presque Isle

NEWPORT – Katie Peers made two free throws with 1:30 remaining to secure 55-49 Presque Isle victory over Nokomis in schoolgirl basketball action Saturday.

Brianna Blanchard scored 21 points and made six steals for the Wildcats.

Tonya Cray scored 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for Nokomis. Laura Pelkey contributed 14 points and Marcie Raymond added 13.
