WATERVILLE — Thomas College will offer free tax-preparation help through a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program starting Feb. 9.

Sessions will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: Feb. 9 and 23; March 2, 9 and 16; and April 6, in Room 123 of the Maine Administration Building at Thomas College.

Interested taxpayers should bring this year’s tax package, a wage and earnings statement from all employers (Form W-2), all interest statements from banks (Form 1099), a copy of last year’s tax return, if available, and other information about income and expenses.

Program volunteers are junior accounting majors who have completed a rigorous personal income tax course. For information, call Mary Hatch, assistant professor of accounting, at 873-0771, Ext. 311.
