Wolf sparks Maine> Women’s hockey team rolls past BC

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Raffi Wolf scored two goals to lead the University of Maine past Boston College 5-2 in women’s hockey action Saturday.

Kira Misikowetz netted one goal and added two assists for the Black Bears. Esther Granville and Christina Hedges had one goal each. Amanda Cronin made 22 saves on 24 shots.

Jen Buckley had two goals for the Eagles. Sharon Vantuyl stopped 20 of 25 shots.

Maine Maritime wins two

The Maine Maritime Academy Mariners defeated Wheelock College Sunday 65-27 and topped Lasell on Saturday 67-57.

At Boston Sunday, Rachel Merrill led Maine Maritime Academy with 14 points and nine steals. At Newton, Mass., Saturday, Vanessa LeBlond scored 16 points and collected 13 rebounds to lead Maine Maritime Academy of Castine.

At Machias, Jared Rivers’ putback with three seconds left in the fifth overtime lifted the University of Maine-Farmington past the Clippers.

Rivers paced the 12-10 Beavers with 37 points and 19 rebounds. Steve Toland added 31 points and Daren Meader grabbed 10 rebounds.

Zeke Bojic led the University of Maine-Machias, now 7-15, with 32 points and 12 rebounds. Jared Look tossed in 22 points.
