PRESQUE ISLE – Thomas College of Waterville swept a doubleheader with the University of Maine-Presque Isle in college softball action Monday. The Terriers edged the Owls 12-11 in game one and picked up a 13-1 victory in the second game.
In the first game, Sarah Currier’s two run single in the top of the seventh inning provided the winning run for the Terriers.
Currier finished with two singles, two RBIs and a run scored Currier finished with two singles, two RBIs and a run scored. Barany Chessa singled three times and scored three runs.
Samantha Richard and Michelle Young had three singles each for the Owls.
In the second game, Heather Farrell pitched a two-hitter for her second win of the twinbill.
Chessa, Beth Robinson, Aly Thompson and Farrell had two singles each for Thomas.
Melissa Bouchard and Megan Amero had a single apiece for UMPI.
