BRUNSWICK – The Bowdoin College softball team swept a doubleheader from the University of New England, winning the first game 8-2 and the second 3-2.
In the first game, Bowdoin’s Jessie Poulin scattered four hits over seven innings to pick up the victory.
Erin McDonough hit a two-run double and Jessie Mayol added a two-run single for the Polar Bears.
Erin Murphy took the loss for the Nor’easters.
In the second game, Megan Wardrop drove in the game-winner with a squeeze bunt in the bottom of the seventh.
Kristie Miller hit a two-run homer for the Polar Bears.
Christie Monteith doubled and singled for the Nor’easters.
