PRESQUE ISLE – Jamie Wells pitched two complete games Saturday, allowing 15 hits and striking out 15, to lead Hampden Academy to a twinbill sweep of Presque Isle.
The Broncos won the first game 10-5 and took the second 11-1.
In the second game, Wells allowed one run and seven hits, striking out eight.
Brie Drummond tripled and singled to drive in three runs for the Broncos. Sarah Trask launched a two-run double and a single. Jen Philbrook singled twice.
Sarah Belden singled twice and drove in a run for the Wildcats. Billie Hayward hit two singles.
In the first game, the Broncos scored five runs in the second inning to take the victory.
Drummond tripled and singled to go with two RBIs for Hampden. Philbrook singled and doubled while Wendy Butler added two singles.
Melissa Pelletier singled and doubled for an RBI for Presque Isle. Jessica Martin singled twice for one RBI and Kristi Soucier lined a two-run single.

Dexter sweeps Schenck
At Union Street Field in Bangor Friday, Dexter pounded out 18 hits in the first game and nine in the second to sweep Schenck of East Millinocket 18-6 and 16-3.
In the first game, Kristy Veazie smacked three- and two-run home runs to pace the winners. Morgan Titus chipped in with a solo homer and two singles, Amanda Cobb had two singles, a triple and three RBIs, and Amber Cooper slammed Shelly Gudroe contributed three singles and two RBIs and Christine Buzzell had two singles and three RBIs.
Dana Gallant singled twice for Schenck and Michelle Clukey added a two-run double.
In the second game, Buzzell led Dexter with a two-run home run and two singles. Cooper added a single, double and three RBIs, Titus had a two-run double, Gudroe singled twice and Christina Dorman notched a two-run single.
Katrina Corry slammed a solo home run for Schenck and Rebecca Stratton and Amanda Thomas each had run-scoring singles.

At Howland, Kayla Oldenburgh pitched three innings of scoreless relief, striking out five, as Penobscot Valley knocked off Penquis of Milo.
Oldenburgh rapped two doubles with an RBI for the Howlers. Meagan Cyr also hit a pair of doubles. Mitchelle Doyon, Rachael Dawson and Carrie Braley each had a single, double and one RBI.
Meagan Russell hit two singles and a double with one RBI for the Patriots.

At East Machias, the Raiders scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning by virtue of a single, two walks, two hit batters and an error to take the win over Sumner.
Diana Bourdeau lined a two-run triple for the Washington Academy. Miranda Fergerson added two singles and two RBIs.
Rachel Philio laced a three-run double in the first inning for the Tigers of East Sullivan.

Nokomis sweeps Caribou
At Caribou, Nokomis of Newport took a pair of games from Caribou on Saturday. The Warriors won the first game 9-2 and captured a 14-2 win in game two.
In the first game, Erica Bacon blasted a grand slam and a single as Nokomis rolled.
Nicole Palmer homered and singled to drive in three for the Warriors. Adrianne Nickerson ripped three singles with two RBIs. Jess Randlett tripled and singled.
Megan Cole-Karagory and Billie Jo Martin hit three singles for the Vikings.
In the second game, Palmer doubled, singled twice and drove in two runs for the Warriors.
Corenna Horrath ripped three singles with three RBIs for Nokomis. Tonya Cray had three singles.
Ashley Monahan had two triples, a single and an RBI for Caribou. Tiffany Nason and Martin each singled twice.

Dexter sweeps Schenck
At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, the Dexter Tigers banged out 24 hits to post a doubleheader sweep over Schenck of East Millinocket in baseball action.
Dexter won the opener 12-2 and took the second game 12-3.
In the first game, Brent Patterson hit a single, double and triple (1 RBI) and Brock Kimball threw a three-hitter. Ryan Robichaud added two RBIs on a single and double, and Mike Mountain had two singles and four RBIs.
Ryan O’Donnell and Mike Hamlin each hit RBI singles for Schenck.
In the second game, Mark Cooper came on in the second and struck out 11 while walking five in six innings to get the win.
Chris Wyman and Derek Sawyer each had two singles and two RBIs.
O’Donnell and Adam Dempsey each had two singles and an RBI for the Wolverines.

Greenville, Richmond split
At Richmond, Casey Niles scattered nine hits in the eight-inning second game, striking out nine without a walk, as the Lakers earned a split of the doubleheader.
Richmond took the opener 11-1, but Greenville won the nightcap 4-2.
In the second game, Niles shut out the Bobcats over the final five innings and the Lakers rallied for two runs in the eighth. Rance Aucoin led Greenville with a double and two singles, while Aaron Aucoin singled three times.
Justin Schank doubled and singled for Richmond.
In the first game, Sean Coughlin stroked three doubles and a single with two RBIs to pace the hosts’ 12-hit attack. Schanck doubled and singled behind winner Brian Beckwith, who fanned eight.

At East Machias, Matt Welch tossed a two-hitter, striking out five and walking two, as Sumner beat Washington Academy.

Presque Isle, Hampden split
At Presque Isle, Nick Nadeau scattered eight hits in the second game to help the Wildcats split their Big East doubleheader with Hampden Academy.
Presque Isle won the first game 7-3 and Hampden took the second 13-3.
In the opener, Nadeau was solid, striking out three. Josh Gale doubled and singled for the Wildcats, while Marcus Nadeau singled twice. Jeff Yeager had a single and two RBIs.
Ryan King belted a two-run home run for the Broncos.
In Game 2, Ben Preston rapped a double and two singles to pace HA’s 14-hit outburst. Ben Adams singled three times and Nate Drummond had two singles behind Brad Baise and Ryan King, who combined on an eight-hitter.

Nokomis takes two from Caribou
At Caribou, Nokomis won a pair of games Saturday in a doubleheader with Caribou. The Warriors won game one 9-3 and defeated the Vikings 7-2 in the second.
In the first game, Shawn Henderson and Richie Otis hit two-run home runs in the first inning to lift Nokomis.
Henderson added a single and double for three RBIs. Brandon Cossar homered and singled and Greg Morse added a single and double.
Jerry Shanahan rapped two singles and a double (1 RBI) for the Vikings. Aaron Smart contributed three singles.
In the second game, Cossar tossed a seven-hitter and struck out nine as Nokomis rolled.
Justin Veazie ripped two singles and a double with two RBIs. Scott Deraps added a single, triple and two RBIs.
Brad Holabird hit two singles and a double for Caribou. Shanahan added two singles.
