BREWER – Worcester Peat swept a Saturday Twilight League doubleheader with Compucar of Portland behind the solid pitching of Robbie Worcester and Matt Allen.
Worcester Peat won the first game 8-2 as Worcester and Jared Cochran scattered eight hits, and took the second 8-4 behind Allen’s three-hitter.
In the first game, Aaron Largay hit a two-run single in the second and Marc Halsted had a two-run triple in the fifth for Worcester.
Steve Osborne had two singles and an RBI while Jason Dority and Robey Rhoads each singled twice.
Matt Webb and Mike Owens each singled twice for Compucar.
In the second game, Halsted hit three singles to pace Worcester while Rick McDonald hit a two-run homer in the fourth and singled.
Seth Cole singled twice and Allen struck out eight batters.
Owens again led Compucar with a two-run double.
