Haystack Mountain crafts school awards 100 scholarships

DEER ISLE — Haystack Mountain School of Crafts has awarded nearly 100 scholarships or fellowships to students who will take part in its core program this summer. All awards were made through the school’s scholarship endowment, which was established in 1987 and includes 30 named funds that were created by individual gifts or foundation grants.

All applicants were chosen on the basis of their commitment to and growing knowledge of the craft areas for which they had applied, as well as the ability to work in a closely knit community.
