EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Michelle Michaud of Skowhegan claimed the national championship in the young women’s hammer throw at the U.S.A. Track and Field Youth National Championships. The event was held at Southern Illinois University.
Michaud, a senior-to-be at Skowhegan High School, won the event with a throw of 115 feet, 8 3/4 inches. This was her first official competition with the hammer.
Michaud also competed in the shot put and discus competition, finishing fourth and eighth, respectively.
