LEEDS — Maine Farm Days, a statewide agricultural exhibition on a working dairy farm, will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 24-25, at Barker Farms on Route 106.
The free event, now in its 31st year, features the latest in farm technology and an opportunity to learn more about agriculture and farm life. Various hands-on activities will be offered, such as milking a cow, meeting a llama, making ice cream and playing in a tub of corn seed.
Local Soil and Water Conservation Districts and Natural Resources Conservation Service staff will provide assistance on the nutrient managment law and how it applies to farms.
For information, contact the Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District at 753-9400 or University of Maine Cooperative Extension at (800) 287-1458.
