The festivities open with a golf tournament at Sable Oaks Golf Course in South Portland starting at 8 a.m.
The induction reception and banquet begins 5 p.m.
Sale, who started his stellar golf career as Alabama high school champion in 1965, became Maine Amateur champion in 1967 and ’69. In the meantime, his University of Florida team won the national championship.

He was runner-up in the Maine Open in 1968, then won the Maine Amateur two years later.

Mills was instrumental in bringing the Unionmutual Seniors Golf Classic to Purpoodock Club in Cape Elizabeth for three years starting in 1984. As head pro at The Woodlands Club in Falmouth, he also helped bring the Hogan Tour (later Nike Tour) to that club.
He has been a teaching pro at Doral Country Club in Miami for the last six years.
Smith was captain of an undefeated Manchester, Conn., high school team before embarking on a college career at Houston.
The Cougars were national champions twice while Smith was a member of the team.
Smith was New England Amateur champion in 1964, Connecticut State Amateur twice, Marine Corps winner in 1968, and runner-up in the All-Armed Forces tournament the same year.
Smith received his PGA Class A card in 1974 and became the pro at Webhannet Golf Club in Kennebunk Beach the same year.
Smith won the Spudland Open in Presque Isle in 1974, the New Hampshire Open in 1976, and the Maine PGA championship six times.
The Maine Golf Hall of Fame will also recognize the winners of various Maine tournaments such as the Maine Amateur, Women’s Amateur, and Maine Open.
