HERSHEY, Pa. – Five youths from Maine have returned home from the Hershey’s Track and Field North American Final, each one having placed within the top seven in his or her respective event.

Kassie Lovely of Easton finished fourth in the girls softball throw for ages 9-10 with a mark of 107-1. Leah Alexander, also from Easton, finished fifth in the age 9-10 girls long jump, with a distance of 5-9.

A pair of girls from Springfield took seventh-place finishes in their events. Michaela Ham posted a time of 31.43 seconds in the age 11-12 200m dash. Jessie Kuester’s throw of 149-9 was good enough for seventh in the 13-14 girls softball throw.

Gorham’s David Merrill, competing in the age 9-10 boys long jump, placed seventh with a jump of 6-2 3/4.
