After all we have been though in this country during the past six years we still have people who are asking if presidential candidates have ever used drugs. I would note in reply to such questions that we have in recent searches for a suitable president disregarded draft dodging, sex in the White House (depending upon your definition of “sexual relations”), and smoking marijuana (if you don’t inhale).
In addition we have become tired of special prosecutors who probe too deeply into the personal lives of politicians and have learned to detest the purveyors of political sleaze. So, why on earth do we continue to ask potential candidates for the presidency if they ever used drugs? Voters have said they do not care. For once I agree with Bill Clinton. Let’s get on with the business of the country. Lay out the candidates’ qualifications, experience and plan for moving the country forward and then let’s vote. We have listened to enough superfluous political trash. Dick Marston St. Agatha
