After reading the BDN’s coverage of David Martin’s memorial service (Aug. 30), I had considered writing to thank you for your accurate and unbiased article. It was an honorable tribute. Fair covergte of any motorcycle-related event is few and far between, but after Bary Small’s letter (Sept. 2), I was outraged.

I attended David’s service and left wishing I had known him better. His brothers and friends spoke from the heart about this man who obviously touched many.

Small’s ciriticms of the article and of David himself is sickening. How could be make judgments on the integrity of someone he has never met? Is this Small’s contribution to making the world better? By criticizing the dead and hurting the living? Look in the mirror, Mr. Small. The place to start is there. Dayna Herz Bangor
