HARRINGTON – Joe Richards scored on a header off a Will Hassleman cross with 2 mintues, 14 seconds left in the second overtime to lift Machias to a 2-1 victory over Narraguagus in schoolboy soccer action on Thursday.

Micah Hall had equalized it with 10:13 to go in regulation to send the game into overtime. Kevin Laughlin stopped eight of 10 shots for the 2-0 Bulldogs.

Gene Stewart scored for Narraguagus with 1:04 to go in the first half. Bruce Hall kept the 2-1 Knights in the game, stopping 28 of 30 shots.

Katahdin 2, Schenck 1

At East Millinocket, Matt Savage scored off a Shane Cole assist with :41 left to lift 1-2-1 Katahdin.

Mike Lane scored unassisted for the Cougars of Sherman Station, while Ryan Robinson stopped 12 of 13 shots.

Chad McLaughlin scored off a Jeff Spearin assist for Schenck, while Mike Rossignol made nine saves on 12 shots for the 2-2 Wolverines.

Jones.-Beals 4, Washington Acad. 1

At East Machias, Ira Kelly recorded a goal and an assist and Dan Redman scored twice to power the Royals.

Shane Alley also notched an assist for 1-1 Jonesport-Beals. Glen Libbey stopped 14 of 18 Raider shots.

Vinnie Emery scored off a Jason Cheney assist for 0-2 Washington Academy, while Matt Demarest stopped 13 of 20 shots for the Raiders.

Limestone 3, Easton 0

At Limestone, David King scored two goals and assisted on a Sean Ward goal to fuel the Eagles.

Ward assisted on one of King’s goals, while Peter Bradley stopped nine of 14 shots for 2-5-1 Limestone.

Jeff Blackstone stopped 11 of 14 shots for 3-8 Easton.

Shead 1, Calais 0

At Eastport, Corey Sullivan scored unassisted to help 1-0-1 Shead win.

Cliff Urquhart made 15 saves on 15 shots for the Tigers.

Jason Saucier stopped five of six shots for Calais.

Katahdin 1, Fort Fairfield 1 (2OT)

At Sherman Station Wednesday, the Cougars and Tigers fought to a 1-1 tie.

Mike Lane scored a goal for Katahdin and goalkeeper Ryan Robinson made 24 saves.

Brandon Traknis scored a goal for Fort Fairfield, while Ryan Babin knocked down 16 shots.

Carrabec 2, Winthrop 1

At North Anson, Eduardo Cevallos pounced on the ball the goalkeeper couldn’t handle and snapped it into the net from just in front of the goal 46 seconds into overtime for the Cobras.

Derek Keenan assisted on the goal for 3-0 Carrabec. Marcus Ahlberg scored the first Carrabec goal on a direct kick. Tom LaPlante made 11 saves on 12 shots.

Tom Dressler converted a Jeff Kauffman assist into the goal for 1-2 Winthrop. Joel Weisberger made 12 saves on 14 shots.

JV: Winthrop, 3-1

Girls soccer

East Grand 9, Woodland 0

At Woodland, Tara Cropley and Sam Goforth contributed three goals and two assists each as the Vikings cruised.

Mesha Whitney added two goals and an assist for 3-1 East Grand of Danforth. Chantel Parker notched a goal and an assist while Amanda Godley and Tasha Amero had an assist each. Lindsay Faulkner made three saves on six shots.

Melissa Lawless made seven saves on 16 shots for 0-1 Woodland.

Limestone 7, Easton 2

At Limestone, Ashley Brooker scored two goals and added an assist as the Eagles recorded their first win.

Limestone’s Paige Spiess scored twice. Michele Crook and Sara Bernier added a goal and an assist each and Melissa St. Pierre contributed an assist for the 1-7 Eagles. Sarah Durepo made one save on three shots.

Sarah Sullivan led the Bears with two goals and Kelly O’Mara had an assist. Jessica Littlefield stopped seven of the 14 shots she faced for 0-9 Easton.

Bangor Christian 4, Greenville 1

At Bangor, Jessica Ossinger and Lari Sobey each scored a goal and notched an assist for the 2-0 Pats.

Becky Fortier scored unassisted on a corner, Laura Johnson scored off a Heidi Mead pass and Lean Trottier stopped six of seven shots for Bangor Christian of Bangor.

Kat Bushey scored on a penalty kick for 0-2 Greenville, while Justine Lavigner stopped 13 of 20 shots.
