Students from Camden-Rockport High School were among 28 Maine Latin students who won awards in academic, athletic and artistic contests at the National Junior Classical League Convention on Aug. 1-6 at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla.

Students attended workshops and seminars on various topics related to the classics, participated in various competitions and met students from throughout the United States.

Award winners from Camden-Rockport were Deborah Hayden, who won 12 prizes, including two first places; Autumn Roy, who won four prizes; Mandy Smith and Daniel Smith, who won three prizes each; and Cara Carpenter and Janelle Lavoie who won one prize each.
