LINCOLN – Quarterback B.J. Birtz was 8-for-12 passing for 169 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Mattanawcook Academy Lynx to a 50-0 football victory over the Bucksport Golden Bucks Friday night.
Birtz rushed five times for 51 yards, while Miah Coffin racked up 101 yards on 11 carries, Wade Jordan ran for 109 yards on 10 carries and Jared McCarthy rushed for 94 yards on six carries and had two TDs for Mattanawcook Academy.
Allen Whitney led the Lynx defense with 12 tackles, while Jordan had 10, Travis Proctor had nine and McCarthy added eight tackles and three sacks.

At Rockland, Dexter quarterback Brent Patterson pushed through on a 1-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter and Joe Turner scored on the conversion rush as Dexter remained undefeated.
Russ Hoskins scored on a 73-yard run and Patterson connected with Ben Robinson for two points in the second period to give Dexter the lead back.
Blair Drinkwater scored from a yard out and ran for the conversion to give Rockland the lead back in the third. Matt Wall ran for 162 yards on 28 carries.

At Pittsfield, Chadd Bennett threw three touchdown passes, including two to Steve Allen, and Brian Craigue ran for more than 150 yards and a touchdown as Maine Central Institute shut out Mount Desert Island.
Allen caught TD passes of 35 and 18 yards from Bennett and Tom Twombly hauled in a 10-yarder.
Craigue ran 8 yards for his score and Ben Hall added a 3-yard TD run.
Messalonskee 41, Fryeburg 6
At Oakland, Brad Lessard racked up 303 yards on 20 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the Eagles to victory over Freyburg Academy.
Lessard got Messalonskee started with a 66-yard jaunt in the first quarter, peeled off a 53-yarder in in the second, and added a 5-yard run in the third.

At Farmington, J.R. Moreau accounted for more than 100 yards receiving and rushing, helping the Cougars remain unbeaten despite fumbling inside the Rams’ 10-yard line three times.
Four players scored touchdowns for Mt. Blue, including Moreau on a 2-yard run, Randy Hutchinson on a 7-yard run and Jon McCabe on a 12-yard pass from T.J. Bell. Marcus Corey also hooked up with Scott Parlin on a 40-yard scoring pass.
Cony got a 3-yard TD pass from B.L. Lippert to Scott Brawn.

At Livermore Falls, Chad Flagg recoverd a fumble in the second quarter and ran it back seven yards to keep Livermore Falls’ momentum going early.
The Andies also had touchdown runs from Travis Dube, who punched in a 1-yard TD, and Jeremy Abbott, who dashed in 3 yards, as held their early lead.
Madison quarterback Nate Johnson connected with Ryan Hayden on passes of 20 and 55 to put the Bulldogs on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter.

At Turner, Leavitt sacked Hampden’s quarterback on the game’s opening play and Jesse Morris snagged the ball and returned it for a touchdown.
Leavitt came back later in the first quarter and scored when Jake Adams hauled in a 25-yard halfback option pass from Andrew Hall.
The Broncos responded in the third quarter when they put together a 16-play TD drived that consumed 9 minutes, 40 seconds, and culminated in John Dickinson’s 11-yard TD run. Josh Sparacio added the two-point conversion rush to cut Leavitt’s lead to 19-8.
However, Leavitt ruined Hampden’s momentum when it received the ball on the kickoff and Hall returned it for a TD.
Dickinson paced Hampden with 122 yards on 22 carries while Pat Brann chipped in with 64 yards on 12 carries.

Dexter 3, Mattanawcook Acad. 2
At Dexter, Kristin Gilbert and Kristy Veazie scored off each other’s assists, lifting the Tigers to victory.
Erika Haiko scored the other goal for the 7-0 Tigers, assisted by Courtney McCormick and Veazie. Angie Westover saved two of four shots for Dexter.
Jenn Comeau scored an unassisted goal and set up a Kim Burleigh goal for 3-3 Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln. Tracie Pickering made 11 saves on 14 shots.
Piscataquis 1, Brewer 0
At Brewer, Jamie Clukey scored unassisted with 22:50 left in the second half to lift 6-1-1 Piscataquis of Guilford.
Kalli Pulkkinen stopped all eight shots she saw for the Pirates.
Emily Goodness stopped 17 of 27 shots for 2-6 Brewer.

Hermon 3, Stearns 1
At Hermon, Tonya Laughlin scored Hermon’s first goal and set up Katie Vashon’s game-winner with 28:57 to play as the Hawks improved to 5-3.
Lindsey Guerrette added an insurance goal with sister Liza Guerrette picking up the assist on a corner after time had elapsed.
Monica Rowe had an assist for Hermon and goalie Kacie Hutchinson made nine saves on 10 shots.
Megan Nicholson scored for 2-4-1 Stearns of Millinocket. Pam Pelletier made 27 saves on 30 shots.
