Crafts, Richardson power Greenville win> Lakers shut out Windham Christian

GREENVILLE – Jesse Crafts made nine saves on 10 shots to help the Greenville Lakers shut out the Windham Christian Warriors 6-0 in schoolgirl soccer action Monday.

Julie Richardson scored two goals and offered two assists. Patti Weingart, Lani LaCasce, Jillian Bouley, and Kim Folsom scored a goal apiece for 4-8 Greenville.

Goalkeeper Jaci Taylor made 16 saves on 21 shots for the 6-6-1 Warriors.

Presque Isle 1, Nokomis 0

At Presque Isle, Bri Blanchard, assisted by Arika Levasseur, scored the only goal in the game for 12-0-1 Presque Isle. Jen Hallett made nine saves on 14 shots for the Wildcats.

Tonya Cray stopped 12 of 30 shots for the 4-7-1 Warriors of Newport.

Dexter 1, John Bapst 1 (2OT)

At Dexter, Rebecca Stevens scored a goal to tie the game as the Tigers and the Crusaders battled to a double-overtime tie.

Ashley Cluff made three saves on 12 shots for 3-5-2 John Bapst of Bangor.

Dexter’s Angie Hogan notched a goal off assists from Ashley White and Amber Cooper. Briley Belanger stopped four of five shots for the 3-7-1 Tigers.

Sumner 7, Washington Academy 2

At East Sullivan, Meg Brunton and Liz Brunton scored three goals apiece to pace the Tigers.

Liz Brunton also had an assist for 3-11 Sumner. Kathy Emerton scored a goal while Amanda Shafer made eight saves on 10 assists.

Diana Bourdeau scored two goals for the Raiders. Charlene Gaddis notched an assist and Katie Kurz made 44 saves on 51 shots.

Old Town 2, Orono 1

At Orono, Kristen Tracewski scored two goals to power the Indians.

Erin Ouellette assisted on one of Tracewski’s goals and Justine Ferland stopped 10 of 17 shots for the 12-1 Indians.

Kati Libby notched a goal off a Jill Freese assist for the 9-2-1 Red Riots and Sarah Gray made eight saves on 13 shots.

JV: Old Town 2, Orono 1

Bangor 5, Caribou 0

At Caribou, Jana Savage scored two goals and assisted on two more to pace the Rams.

Melissa Achorn added a goal and two assists and Alison Smith handed out two assists while Samantha Warner and Molly Wiebe notched a goal apiece for the 10-1-2 Rams. Katherine Miller made five saves on five shots.

Ashley Monahan made 13 saves on 21 shots for the 2-9-2 Vikings.

Penquis 2, Central 0

At Milo, Steve Kissell scored off a Mike Weston assist at the 11:36 mark of the first to lift the Patriots.

Eric Ballash scored an unassisted goal and Matt Pokrywka stopped seven of 14 shots for 11-2 Penquis Valley.

James Nickerson turned away 16 of 24 shots for 8-4-1 Central of Corinth.

Greenville 4, Windham Christian 0

At Greenville, Tyler Muzzy carried the Lakers with two goalsassist.

Jonathan Ethier and Luke Knowlton also scored for the 9-2-1 Lakers. Matt Driscoll and Tom Mason handed out assists. Aaron Crossman made six saves on eight shots.

Evan Nickers stopped five of 12 shots for 8-5 Windham Christian.

John Bapst 5, Dexter 0

At Union Street Field in Bangor, Nate Susi and Zev Myerowitz each scored a goal and notched an assist to power the Crusaders.

Emil Lin, Seth Tremble, and Conrad Brown chipped in with a goal apiece for the 7-6 winners and Regan Leblanc, Nick Snyder and Zach Means each contributed an assist. Lee Grover made five saves on seven shots.

Brian Hersey made 11 saves on 32 shots for 3-10 Dexter.

DI-Stonington 0, Jonesport-Beals 0

At Deer Isle, the Royals and the Mariners played to a tie through two overtimes.

Goalie Andy Bye made 19 saves on 30 shots for 1-11-1 Deer Isle-Stonington. Glen Libby stopped 13 of 26 shots for 7-3-2 Jonesport-Beals.

George Steven 3, Searsport 1

At Searsport, Gilberto Benevides carried 8-3-1 George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill to victory by scoring all three goals.

Dan Read added an assist, and goalkeeper Isaac Chittenden saved 13 of 14 shots.

Tucker Mercier scored on an assist from Joey Light for 11-1 Searsport and Ben Relyea made 15 saves on 20 shots.

Ellsworth 4, Hermon 0

At Ellsworth, Ryan Manjuck and Courtney Bunker each scored an unassisted goal and the Eagles improved to 12-0-1.

Graham Macbeth added a goal off a Cooper Friend assist and Tom Kurda also converted a Friend pass. Joseph Richards made six saves on nine shots.

Donnie Hewes made six saves on 19 shots for 6-6 Hermon.

Bangor 2, Caribou 0

At Caribou, goalkeeper Nick Loukes stopped all seven shots he faced in the Rams’ win.

B.J. Carr and Jim Shea notched a goal apiece and Jeff Oertel assisted on both goals for 9-3-1 Bangor.

Nick Chasse stopped 11 of 13 shots for 5-7-1 Caribou.

Dexter 5, Central 0

At Corinth, Erika Haiko scored two goals to lead the undefeated Tigers to their 12th win.

Sam Haskell scored a goal and recorded two assists and Kristin Gilbert and Kristy Veazie each had a goal and an assist for the 12-0 winners. Angie Ellis chipped in with an assist and Angie Westover made one save on three shots.

Julie Clement made seven saves on 10 shots for the 5-8 Red Devils.

Stearns 4, Mattanawcook 2

At Millinocket, four different players scored for the Minutemen.

Megan Nicholson, Candace Achorn, Nola Boynton, and Regan Marquis contributed a goal apiece. Shannon Sirois, Katie Nason, and Rachel Morrison notched assists and Pam Pelletier saved 11 of 13 shots for 4-7-2 Stearns.

Jenn Comeau scored a goal, and assisted on a Kim Burleigh score for the 7-6 Lynx of Lincoln. Sara McCormick made 13 saves on 16 shots for Mattanawcook Academy.

Hermon 2, Old Town 1 (OT)

At Old Town, Tonya Laughlin ended the game just a minute into overtime when she converted a Briana Lane feed into a goal.

Kaylee Cooper scored the first goal off a Laughlin assist for 8-5 Hermon. Kacie Hutchinson made five saves on 10 shots.

Kasey Spencer scored an unassisted goal for the 8-5 Indians and Kristin Osborne made 17 saves on 19 shots.

JV: Hermon 2-1
