HARRINGTON – Zac Gage-Croll’s goal with 15 minutes, 51 seconds remaining in the game capped a three-goal second half for Narraguagus giving it a 3-2 win over Machias and the Downeast Athletic Conference Championship in high school soccer action on Tuesday.

The goal was Gage-Croll’s second of the game and came off a Mike Beal assist. Matt Pounder also scored for Narraguagus. Erik Smith and Micah Hall had staked the Tigers to a 2-0 halftime lead, while Bruce Hall made 18 saves on 22 shots for the Knights of Harrington.

Kevin Loughlin stopped 13 of the 22 shots he faced for Machias.

Girls soccer

Calais 4, Shead 1

At Calais, Katie Churchill had two goals and an assist to lead the Blue Devils to victory in the Downeast Athletic Conference Championship.

Lana Martin and Sarah Ludington each added a goal, while Kari Redding had an assist. Jen Russell made four saves on six shots for 10-4-1 Calais.

Hanna Dean converted a Judy Suddy assist, while Jamie Green stopped 10 of 20 shots for the 5-4-1 Tigers of Eastport.
