The Farnsworth Art Museum was recently awarded grants from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Davis Family Foundation. A $112,000 grant from the IMLS will be used by the museum over a two-year period to support on-going exhibitions and museum activities.

A $25,000 grant from the Davis Family Foundation will be used to support the Louise Nevelson exhibition now on display. According to museum director Chris Crosman, these two awards “recognize the Farnsworth Museum’s commitment to serving the community through such activities as youth and adult education programs and exhibition series.”

The Farnsworth Art Museum would like to encourage everyone to visit the museum this month in celebration of National Arts and Humanities Month. Museum hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free for Rockland residents and children 17 and under.
