PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The Bangor men’s 3.0 Level tennis team failed to advance Friday to the four-team semifinals at the 3.0 Senior National Championships.

The team from Silver Springs, Md., was 4-0, while teams from Napa, Calif., Little Rock, Ark., and Indianapolis, Ind., had 3-0 records in the preliminary round to advance.

The Bangor team of Jim Bartlett, Cliff VanAken, Richard Martin, David Roberts, Peter Harris and Takeo Kanamura was one of five teams to post 1-2 records. Three teams failed to win a match.

Little Rock defeated Silver Springs 2-1 and Indianapolis 2-1 to win the title.
