BELFAST — Jamie Aldus, 16, of Searsmont suffered a leg fracture when hit by a vehicle while crossing High Street on Friday.

Lt. Wendall Ward said Tuesday that Aldus was in the crosswalk between the Bel-View Apartments and the Belfast Coin Laundry when she was hit. The driver of the 1989 Volkswagen was Elizabeth H. Turner, 60, of Monroe. The accident occurred at 11:35 a.m. Friday when Turner turned left onto High Street from Spring Street.

She told police she did not see Aldus standing in her path. Aldus was treated at Waldo County General Hospital. No charges were filed.
