Players of the Week

College CORY LAROSE

ORONO – UMaine senior forward Cory Larose has been named the Hockey East Player of the Week. Larose figured in all of Maine’s goals in the Black Bears’ 4-2 win over Boston College Sunday. Larose scored three goals and had an assist and finished the week with a 3-3-6 total.

ANDY APSTEIN

LEWISTON – Senior forward Andy Apstein of the Bates College men’s soccer team has been honored as a first-team All-Conference selection by the New England Small College Athletic Conference. Apstein lead the team with eight assists and 22 points on the season.

KATE O’MALLEY

LEWISTON – Senior forward Kate O’Malley of the Bates College women’s soccer team has been honored as a first-team All-Conference selection by the New England Small College Athletic Conference for the third time in four years. O’Malley finished the season with 10 goals and five assists for 25 points. She will also take part in the New England’s Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association all-star game Nov. 20 at Boston University.

JOLENE THURSTON

LEWISTON – Senior midfielder Jolene Thurston of the Bates College women’s soccer team has been honored as a first-team All-Conference selection by the New England Small College Athletic Conference. Thurston finished the season with 15 goals and 15 assists for 45 points.
