Wednesday’s story on the controversy over students who were suspended from Narraguagus High School referred to statements made by Brenda Fickett without identifying her residence. Two women named Brenda Fickett reside in the area. The woman quoted in the story was Brenda Fickett of Cherryfield, who does not have a child attending Narraguagus High School. She was speaking as a concerned parent of a school-age child, but not as the parent of a high school student involved in the controversy. When she addressed a state trooper at the meeting, Fickett told the trooper she expected him to inform her if her child ever were found in a compromising situation. —-

Wednesday’s Page One story on the World Trade Organization contained remarks mistakenly attributed to John Hanson regarding a recommendation to eliminate the WTO. The remarks, and that suggestion, were made by John Dieffenbacher-Krall, director of the Maine Peoples Alliance. —-

Narraguagus High School officials mistakenly omitted the name of senior Brian Redmond from the first quarter honor roll, published in the Bangor Daily News last Friday.
