BLUE HILL — The U.S. Coast Guard and Maine Marine Patrol spent Saturday evening searching for a boater who lost power as he returned to Blue Hill Harbor.
A Coast Guard spokesman said a Blue Hill man who had been on Long Island on Saturday afternoon had been reported as having engine problems upon his return to the harbor. When his engine had died, the spokesman said, he drifted back out to sea.
The Coast Guard sent out one of its search-and-rescue ships, as well as a helicopter from Cape Cod, Mass.
But the boater was discovered unharmed later that evening by a Marine Patrol officer, a Coast Guard spokesman said Sunday.
