Balanced Braves handle Terriers

WATERVILLE – Husson College of Bangor placed five players in double figures Wednesday night en route to a 79-60 Maine Athletic Conference men’s basketball victory over Thomas College.

Quinson Lancaster paced the Braves with 19 points, while Randy Fletcher scored 14 and Brad Olson 12 to go with eight rebounds. Matt Breen and Nikos Sompatzis added 10 points each as Husson moved to 2-1 in MAC play.

Scott Raymond paced Thomas (0-3 in MAC) with a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds. Ed Pillsbury contributed 14 points, while Matt Pitcher grabbed 10 rebounds.

At Waterville, senior Kelly Dow poured in a game-high 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Braves prevailed, improving to 3-0 in Maine Athletic Conference play.

Junior Kelly Dow and Jenn Gott tossed in 14 points each for Husson College of Bangor, which outrebounded the Terriers 43-28. Leslie Trott netted 12 points and Katie Nye added 10.

Erin Lovely and Amylynn Smith paced Thomas (1-2 in MAC) with 12 points each and Betsy Pratt chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.
