Foxcroft Academy press fuels fourth-quarter rally

MILO – Foxcroft Academy used a withering full-court press to hold Penquis scoreless in the fourth quarter, erase an eight-point deficit and post a 47-34 schoolgirl basketball win on Monday.

Foxcroft Academy outscored the Patriots 21-0 in the period. Leslie Glover paced the Ponies with 15 points.

Megan Russell led Penquis of Milo with 10 points.

Brianna Blanchard finished with a game-high 43 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Melissa Blackstone added seven points in the win.

Brandon McCarty scored 18 points, Ryan Robinson added 16, and Dan Cullen had 12 for the Cougars.

Mark Reitsma led the Patriots with 19 points while Matt McCleary finished with 10 rebounds and six blocks.
