SALEM, Mass. – Ken Allen scored 28 points, including the 1,000th of his career, to pace Colby of Waterville to a 66-52 win over the University of Southern Maine in the consolation game of the Salem State Christmas Tourney Thursday.

Pat Gallagher added 10 points for the White Mules.

Mike Fennessy scored 18 points for the University of Southern Maine of Gorham. Ryan Thomas and Corey Zimmerman contributed eight points each.

Southern Maine 65, Savannah College 53

At Salem, Mass., Senior Trish Ripton scored a game-high 25 points and was named the tourney MVP after leading the Southern Maine Huskies to victory at the O’Keefe Sports Center Thursday evening.

Ripton and senior guard Julie Plant cobined for 23 first half points. Plant finished the night with 13 points, a career-high 10 rebounds and five assists. Niki Dominiczak had a career-high 12 points.

Senior Simone Adams paced the Bees with 17 points, while freshman Jocelyn Rollins netted 15. Sophomore Tamia Wheeler finished with 10 points.

In the consolation game, Jen Hutchinison scored a game-high 26 points to lead the College of New Jersey (7-3) to a 54-46 victory over Salem State College (3-6).
