CANTON, N.Y. – Junior captain Caroline Trudeau’s eighth goal of the season gave the St. Lawrence Saints a 3-2 women’s hockey victory over the University of Maine Black Bears Saturday.
Jess Wilson put the Saints ahead 1-0 just 1:04 into the game, and Amanda Sargeant later scored on the power play after Maine tied it to give St. Lawrence the lead at the end of the first.
Trudeau scored the game-winner at 6:53 in the third on a feed from Meghan Maguire. Caryn Ungewitter stopped 22 shots for the Saints.
Raffi Wolf tied it at 4:01 in the first and later scored on the power play for Maine at 9:05 in the third to put the Bears’ within one. Dawn Froats stopped 28 shots for UMaine.

At Waterville Saturday, Colby received three points from Reagan Carey and solid goaltending from junior Josie Chapman en route to the win.
Carey assisted on the game’s first goal, scored by Madeleine Mineau and found the back of the net twice, at 16:49 of the second and 7:00 of the third.
Chapman collected her fourth win this season, as Colby improved to 5-0-1.

Husson men in split
The Husson College men of Bangor split a weekend series in New Hampshire this weekend, beating New England College 91-79 in Henniker Saturday before Colby-Sawyer College knocked the Braves off 92-56 Sunday in New London.
Sunday, Ethan Betts’ 22-point effort was the best among six players in double figures for Colby-Sawyer as it took a 31-point lead into halftime and For the 8-6 Braves, Matt Breen and Brad Olson scored 11 and 10 points, respectively. Breen also grabbed 11 boards.
Saturday, Olson led the way for Husson with 26 points and nine rebounds. Adam King and Breen also chipped in with 18 points apiece.
